Marianne Breslauer - Moments Unnoticed (Photographs 1927-1936)

On my trip to Berlin this week I went to see a quite remarkable exhibition of Marianne Breslauer's photography. I have come across some of her pictures before and remembered her name, so it was a surprize and pleasure to discover a poster advertising the exhibition in the metro.
I love looking at pictures from that period of time partly because of the aesthetics and style but also to imagine the world in those times, seeing the pictures as little windows to the past.
What was quite striking about Breslauer's photography is that I didn't have the feeling that they were taken in the past. There was no border of a brownish or black and white photography to a different world but to the same, the one I am living in now. And this is a quite rare experience. Therefore I recommend to have a look at them just in case you come across the exhibition or the books.
Here are informations to find about Marianne Breslauer, her photography and the exhibition:
It is in German but here is also information in English: Marianne Breslauer (in English)
